Colonial Caranavi coffee is grown in the Yungas region in the state of La Paz on the majestic Eastern ridge of the Andes mountain range at elevations of 4,000 - 6,000 feet. A total of 41 small coffee farms produce this rare coffee.  All farming is done in accordance with methods designed to optimize quality without the use of chemical fertilizers. The farming methods coupled with the unusually tropical climates are combined to produce a heavy-bodied and pleasantly spicy coffee with mild acidity.
